There’s a new online petition requesting that the makes of Barbie do away with her signature blonde locks, and after reading this you just may join the fight too.

A Facebook page set up a few days before Christmas has already gained a staggering 43,000 fans requesting Mattel, the makers of Barbie to create a bald version of the doll in support of children with cancer.

A Facebook page titled “Beautiful and Bald Barbie! has posted pics of what the doll would look like should it actually go in to production, and I personally think it’s a wonderful idea.

Mattel has not returned call to the ladies who created the page, but the ladies say they have contacted the company through some general form letters. In return, they said, they’ve received form letters that say Mattel doesn’t accept ideas from outside sources.

I understand proto call and all, but if Twitter can over throw dictators, surely the people who purchase Barbies can persuade the toy company to create a hairless doll on Facebook!
