Some Mix listeners — especially the Adam Lambert contingent — have been asking us if the NOH8 Campaign is coming to Houston, and the answer is finally YES!
The photographic campaign spread through social media shortly after Proposition 8 passed in California in 2008, banning same-sex marriages there.
Since the campaign began over three years ago, more than 20,000 faces have been photographed, including many celebrities, from Cindy and Meghan McCain to Cher, Taye Diggs, and Emma Roberts among others. (I got mine, shown left, taken in New York City in 2010.)
If you want to participate in the Houston session, you can get pricing and other details (including volunteer opportunities) here, but here are the basics:
WHEN: Thurs, October 18, 2012, 4:00-7:00pm
WHERE: UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON, UNIVERSITY CENTER – 2ND FLOOR, 4800 CALHOUN ROAD, HOUSTON, TX 77004
WEAR: White top, arrive camera-ready, the NOH8 temporary tattoo will be applied on-site
By the way, they retouch every photo to make sure you look fabulous. So you can look great AND stand up for equality!
