Soccer star Hope Solo married Seahawks tight end Jerramy Stevens after Stevens was arrested on suspicion of assaulting his bride, Solo.
On Monday, Stevens was arrested for fourth-degree domestic violence assault; he was, however he was not charged and was later released. The two were wed Tuesday night, despite the case still reportedly being under investigation. If authorities find substantial evidence of assault, Stevens could later be charged. Solo, 31 and Stevens, 33, were reportedly arguing over where they would live after being married.
Solo, the U.S. women’s soccer goalkeeper, dated Stevens for about two months. On November 8th, Solo and Stevens applied for a marriage license.
Although there is not much being released about the wedding ceremony, it is being reported that both Solo and Stevens wed in a private and small wedding ceremony. Additional reports indicate that only close family and friends were present.
Solo has won two Olympic gold medals while Stevens was a first-round draft pick of the Seahawks in 2002.
