Famed boxer and former heavyweight champion of the world Mike Tyson is placing the boxing gloves aside to offer an unadulterated and personal look into his life.
Tyson is bringing his one-man show titled “Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth” to Houston early next year. Directed by Spike Lee, the show features Tyson in a rare and raw form. The production touches on such poignant and pivotal points of Tyson’s life such as him biting off a portion of fellow boxer Evander Holyfield’s ear during a boxing match and the death of his young daughter.
With successful runs on Broadway in New York and at the MGM in Las Vegas, the show is billed as “a rare, personal look inside the life and mind of one of the most feared men ever to wear the heavyweight crown.”
Tyson, a former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, holds the record as the youngest boxer to win the WBC, WBA and IBF heavyweight titles at 20 years, 4 months, and 22 days old.
“Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth” was written by Tyson’s third wife, Kiki Tyson and is scheduled to hit Houston’s Bayou Music Center on February 20, 2013. The stop in Houston is part of a 10-week tour that will visit approximately four dozen cities.
