Beloved children’s television education show “Sesame Street” will address the subject of divorce in an upcoming segment. According to reports, researchers, writers and producers from Sesame Workshop have been working on ways to address the issue to divorce to its young audience of children and toddlers.

In an effort to assure children that they are not alone, the show will feature one of its most recognized and loved puppets, Abby Cadabby.

The story line will feature Abby Cadabby’s parents who have been divorced for some time. The segment, which will be 13 minutes long will be part of a larger multimedia kit titled “Little Children, Big Challenges: Divorce”. The story line will also include a storybook, a guide for parents and an app.

Back in 1992 with Mr. Snuffleupagus was a character that was used to tackle the subject of divorce but after testing, the segment was axed.

“Sesame Street” is confident that their latest efforts to tackle divorce will be met with positivity and understanding from children and parents alike.
