U2 has a brand new song–their first in three years–but it wasn’t written for their long awaited follow-up to 2009’s No Line On The Horizon. Instead it’s a track the band wrote specifically for the upcoming Nelson Mandela biopic, Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom, starring Idris Elba.

The song, which is featured in the movie’s trailer, sends a clear message, as Bono sings, “We can’t fall any further and/We can’t feel ordinary love/ We can’t reach any higher/ We can’t deal with ordinary love.” Watch the trailer below to hear the song, which comes in a little past the one minute mark.

U2’s upcoming album has been in the works since their 2009-2011 world tour and features production work from Danger Mouse.

Last year, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin was reportedly seen at Electric Lady Studios in New York City at the same time the band was recording there, though there is no word yet whether it was for work or for play.
