Pitbull Releases ‘Greenlight’ Featuring Flo Rida & LunchMoney Lewis

By Amanda Wicks

Pitbull isn’t letting his new star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame go to his head, but he does showcase it in the new lyric video he dropped today (July 25) for “Greenlight,” his track with Flo Rida and LunchMoney Lewis. In the opening seconds of the video, the camera pans over Pitbull’s new place on the Walk, an honor he officially received in July.

With “Greenlight,” he proves he knows how to keep the clubs bouncing. And drinking. The song’s big hook is all about shots. “Red light, green light, everybody take a shot/ Red light, green light, give me everything you got,” he encourages in the opening seconds as the beat slowly builds up to an explosive measure.

The song features “three Miami boys,” so it’s full of a sexy feel that exudes that neon atmosphere Miami and South Beach do so well. Compared to much of other Pitbull’s music, “Greenlight” has a more subdued sensual feel with a heavier bass line. But don’t think he’s wandered far from his roots. Pitbull’s raps are full of that flow that made him famous, and Flo Rida’s contributed verse gives it an extra punch.

“Greenlight” appears on Pitbull’s upcoming album Climate Change.
