10 Foot King Cobra Snake Found In Needville, Tx

Lauren Kelly

Sooo as much as I LOVE being out in the country sometimes, this is precisely a reason why I don’t LIVE out there!

A 10 foot king cobra snake was found in Needville, Tx this afternoon after it somehow escaped it’s owner’s house.

According to the Chronicle who spoke with the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office, “the snake disappeared Tuesday night from its owner’s home.”

The article goes on to say that the residence is in a fairly rural area on Cloudt Road near Needville High,  Junior High and Middle schools, said officials with the Needville Independent School District. Officials said staff and faculty at the campuses are aware of the issue but classes are continuing as normal. Along with game wardens, deputies and other law enforcement offices are searching for the snake.

The king cobra is considered the world’s longest venomous snake and can grow as long as about 18 feet, IN CASE YOU WERE WONDERING.

:: UPDATE :: The snake has been caught and returned to it’s home. All together now, “WHEWWWWWWWW.”
