The Weeknd has been at work on something, and today (August 24) he shared a very mysterious clip teasing fans with a taste of what that might be.

On Instagram, The Weeknd aka Abel Tesfaye shared a video shot entirely in the dark. All viewers can hear is a new song playing with The Weeknd’s vocals coming across as moody and ethereal as ever. It’s hard to make out what he’s singing about, but it’s a prime example of his brand of R&B/pop to be sure.

The Weeknd last released new music in 2015 with Beauty Behind the Madness. Although he’s been involved in collaborations with Future, Jeremih and Beyoncé since then, he hasn’t dropped anything purely his. New rumors surfaced today that he had recorded with Daft Punk followed by this latest video. So something is definitely coming, but what exactly? The Weeknd admitted in May that he was working on new music, but even he couldn’t clarify what kind of project–mixtape, studio album or otherwise–it would be.
