News broke today that Gene Wilder has passed away at the ago of 83.
The actor known for his iconic role as Willy Wonka, among many other great roles, died from complications related to Alzheimer’s Disease. He was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma back in 1989, though the last couple of years his health was slowly deteriorating.
Wilder was nominated for two Oscars in his day for roles in “The Producers” and “Young Frankenstein.” He worked frequently with director Mel Brooks on many great films.
He lost his wife, actress Gilda Radner, back in 1989 from Ovarian Cancer and had been very active in raising cancer awareness.
