Billy Gilman Nails This Adele Cover From His Blind Audition On The Voice

Billy Gilman became the youngest singer to ever have a Top 40 hit on the country charts and the young age of 11. Now, 16 years later Gilman is back in the spotlight as he follows his dream of winning ‘The Voice.’ In the video above, from ‘The Voice’ YouTube page, we get a glimpse of Gilman’s blind audition as he belts out Adele’s “When We Were Young.” Adam Levine is the first to spin his chair around, followed next by Miley Cyrus. At the end of the performance, both Blake Shelton and Alicia Keys turn around. He had won them ALL over.

Blake and Miley were both familiar with Gilman from his successful country music career years ago.  “I know Billy. When I was making my first album, that’s when ‘One Voice’ came out and it’s crazy, Billy, “Shelton said. “You always wonder whatever happened to somebody, you know? Now you’ve found your sound and where you belong musically, and I’m happy for you man, I really am.”

Gilman shared with the judges that he had opened for Miley’s dad, Billy Ray. He and Miley immediately connected, making us think that perhaps Gilman will choose to be a part of Team Miley. But, we will have to wait and see.
