Starbucks Announces Espresso Cloud IPA, First Boozy Menu Item

Lauren Kelly

Ok well THIS is definitely something I want to try! (but fine I’ll wait until AFTER my morning coffee, lol)

Starbucks just announced their first official boozy coffee drink called the Espresso Cloud IPA, which is now available on Starbucks’ Evenings menu in limited locations across the country.

According to a description from US Weekly, ‘the drink  is created when a shot glass of orange-and-vanilla-flavored espresso is dropped into a glass of craft IPA beer that’s topped with foamy coffee froth. The idea is based on the mixing process for the popular Italian shakerato espresso drink — but in this drink, beer is added into the equation. Starbucks does already serve wine and beer on its Evenings menu, but this is their first original creation that mixes alcohol and java.’

Check out the video above to see how the Espresso Cloud IPA got started!
