Dallas Cancer Patient Puts A Spin On ‘JuJu On That Beat’

Ana-Alecia Ayala is battling cancer and using dancing and laughter as her strongest weapon.

The 32-year-old Dallas woman posted a video on Facebook doing the popular Juju On That Beat dance. Ayala and her chemo buddy, Danielle Andrus put a spin on the song calling it, “Juju On That Chemo.”

She said,

“Who says cancer and chemo have to get you down? We’ll have the last laugh!! Having an awesome chemo buddy like Danielle Andrus who is ALWAYS down for a dance party helps too!! We want to show the world that dancing and laughter is the BEST medicine. We are #AnaStrong !!”

The video currently has over 50,000 shares since October 18th!

According to KHOU, Ayala was diagnosed in 2015 with a rare tumor in her uterus that spread to her ovaries and into the lining of her stomach. Ayala, a mother to a 3-year-old said she and her husband were attempting to have another baby prior to learning about the diagnoses. After having surgery to remove the majority of it, a new tumor popped up in July on her spleen. She was then faced with a more aggressive chemo.

Ayala met her chemo buddy, Danielle in a fitness group in 2015 and she has stuck by her since the first diagnoses.

“She would come sit with me in my chemo session always bringing me entertainment — magazines, arts and crafts. Things to keep me distracted,” Ayala said. “But she loves a good dance party. We did a dance to Meghan Trainor’s “Me Too” song last time, but never posted it online. This time she encouraged me to post it and everyone has been so sweet to share it and get it out there.”
