Cheese Triggers Same Part Of Brain As Drugs

Well this explains a lot!

According to a new study from the University of Michigan, cheese contains a chemical that’s also found in highly addictive hard drugs.

It’s called casein, is present in all dairy products and can trigger the part of the brain’s opioid receptors which are linked to addiction.

The study explores why certain foods are more addictive than others. Researchers identified addictive foods from nearly 500 people who completed the Yale Food Addiction Scale.

Foods at the top, like pizza, contained cheese. Now we know why.

Is there a 12-step program yet?
