The daughter of actress Debbie Reynolds and singer Eddie Fisher, she’s most well-known for her role as Princess Leia in the Star Wars trilogy. But over the past 30 years, Fisher has become equally famous for her struggles with addiction and bipolar disorder.

She brings her autobiographical story Wishful Drinking to the stage in a one-woman Broadway show playing now at the Hobby Center in Houston.

We sat down to chat about the Star Wars outfits, real-life space exploration and more:

Alanis Morissette debuted her new single “Guardian” on television last night, performing the song on the semi-finals of Dancing With The Stars. CBS Local got to catch up with the singer today to ask how it felt to be back on stage and be a part of a TV show like this one.

As all fans of Dancing With the Stars get to see, a lot goes into the airing of each show. As a performer, Alanis confirmed that she had to run through 2-3 rehearsals before taking the stage last night. But when it came time to go live, she had to work on concentrating during her performance, “It was great performing on stage, it was a trip when a couple of beautiful people are dancing in front of me as was the case last night. I had to look away so I could stay focused on my lyrics and my song, because I was so [taken] with their dancing.”

But what were things like backstage last night during the semi-finals? “There was a lot going on, there was a lot of energy in the room,” Alanis says, “and a lot of people holding their breath, waiting for news. A lot of people walking by in very colorful costumes and there were a few mohawks last night. I had my son my son with me and he was very excited by some of the pink hair.”

Her husband was also with her last night for her return to performing and was able to greet her once she left the stage. “My main concern is if it sounds great, I’m such a sonic music person, and then secondarily how it looked. My husband is very very supportive of me, he’s an artist himself, so he understand the vulnerablities coming off stage wide eyed, ya know? He immediately said, ‘It sounded so good.’”

While she didn’t get to talk with her fellow singers also featured on the show that night, she did get to watch bothCarrie Underwood and Mary J Blige’s, which she loved.

Alanis also admits to now being a fan of DWTS. “I’ve never watched the show,” she admits, “but after having watched it in order to do some research for last night, I can see how it can be very addictive and it would be very dangerous for me. It would be a slippery slope.” And yes, she admits she will be watching next week’s finale.

With $52 million in earnings over the last year, Lopez is raking in the bucks, but according to the magazine her power has more to do with her growing resume. Along with her gig on Idol–where she raked in a cool 2 million for season two–she reignited her singing career with 2011′s Love?, which featured her hit single “On the Floor.” She heads back to the big screen with the pregnancy comedy, What To Expect When You’re Expecting this weekend, but has dominated the small screen with commercials for L’Oreal, Gillette and Fiat. And even teamed up with her ex-husband Marc Anthony for the Latin talent competition show, Q’Viva: The Chosen.

If that wasn’t enough, any one of J.Lo’s over 7 million Twitter followers (yes, a strong social media presence makes you powerful too) looking to cop her style can check out her new clothing line at Kohl’s and then pick up Glow or one of her 17 other fragrances.

The magazine points out that Idol helped revive Lopez’s career after she stumbled with 2006′s El Cantante, which featured ex-hubbie Marc Anthony, and Como Ama una Mujerand, the all-Spanish album she released in 2007. But the judge, who’s touring this summer with Enrique Iglesias, says it might be time to call it quits.

“I miss doing other things,” she said on Ellen this week. “It really does lock you down, which was nice the first year with the babies being three and four.”

But now that her twins, Max and Emme, are getting ready to go to school the single mom doesn’t know if staying on for season three is a good fit.

With nearly two years under her belt, Lopez has learned a few things and recently shared some sound advice with the new X Factor judges Demi Lovato and Britney Spears, who plans to look good for her TV debut.

“You don’t have to be tough,” she told Access Hollywood. “There’s not one way to do that, reality TV, and those competition shows [are] about being yourself. It’s about being your best self, and I think that’s the most important thing.”

She also paid the two ladies a few compliments saying, “I was like, ‘Live TV! Eek.’ It’s a big thing to take on, but I think they’re both more than capable to handle it.”

Oprah Winfrey, Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga, who held the top spot in 2011, join Lopez on this year’s Forbes Celebrity 100 list.

“Tonight was one of those things that was quite a legendary thing to do and something that you felt honored to do as well. Not many people can say that they’ve been on Saturday Night Live and especially at our age. Doing the skit as well was so much fun and performing our music,” Liam Payne said.

Liam went on to express his gratitude to his fans and surprise at the band’s success.

“We thought we’d release it the U.K. but never ever get to a point where we’d be performing on one of the biggest TV shows in America that’s watched by so many millions of viewers,” he said.

“It’s mad that we got to this point. That’s why I came home and went straight onto the web cam because I thought that it was important that we went on and said hi to the fans and thank you very much for getting us to where we are because it’s literally all about the fans.”

Yesterday while in London at BBC Radio 1′s Live Lounge, fun., like so many other before them, tried their hand at a cover of Gotye’s hit song.

They brought in a little help from Williams to take on the part originally handled by Kimbra, but she wasn’t able to be there in person. Instead, while fun. strummed away across the pond, Hayley joined in from Los Angeles at the legendary Capitol Records recording studio where she and her band Paramore are currently working on their 4th album.

and her castmates from the upcoming Rock of Ages movie gave viewers a hint of what to expect from the upcoming film. Dancing with the Stars alum Julianne Hough (Sherrie Christian) and Diego Boneta (Drew Boley) warmed up the crowd by launching into a medley of Joan Jett’s “I Love Rock and Roll” and Foreigner’s “Jukebox Hero,” before Mary came out as her character “Justice Charlier” to sing Journey’s “Anyway Way You Want It.” The track was just released this week to get fans of the Broadway show ready for the movie’s June 15th release date.

Morissette was among the first performers of the night, debuting her brand new song, “Guardian” from her forthcoming album Havoc and Bright Lights. And Carrie Underwood also took the stage to perform “Good Girl” from her just released chart topping album, Blown Away.

The surprising elimination among the dancers last night was Maria Menounos and partner Derek Hough, who had come out among the top with their scores the night before. The remaining three couples competing for the mirror ball next week will be Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd, Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas plus Wiliam Levy and Cheryl Burke.

The finale for Dancing with the Stars will be on May 22.

Wait, whaaattt? I like J.Lo as as judge! I hope she doesn’t go!

She told Ellen, “I really do enjoy it. Now this is my second year — I don’t know if I can go for a third year. I miss doing other things. It really does lock you down, which was nice the first year with the babies being three, but now they’re getting more mobile, they’re about to go into school … So I just don’t know.”

Hmmm, you think she’s using this “threat” to get a higher paycheck to return? Jennifer joined the show in 2010 and reportedly makes $12 million a season.

The band, who have often been likened to fellow UK band Coldplay, said in an interview with NME that they’ve always considered themselves less of a mainstream band and more of an “alternative band.”

“We’ve had our ups and downs in terms of people’s perceptions of us, we’ve never been a band whoever gone with style or fashion,” said Chaplin. “We’ve made records instinctively, not to keep up with anything.”

“We’ve always felt like an alternative band, it’s part of who we are, even as people we felt a bit like that,” explained Chaplin. “Growing up, we felt different and I think our career has borne that out, especially given the current musical climate.”

Despite feeling they don’t fit in, Keane’s latest effort debuted at #1 in the U.K. this week and #17 in the U.S.. Chaplin posted a thank you to their fans on the band’s website, saying, “Eight years ago we set out on a pretty extraordinary adventure, happy in the knowledge that just releasing a record was enough for us as a struggling band! It’s a fairly surreal but lovely feeling to find that further on down the road we’ve now reached five out of five number one albums.”

Keane talked about where their native lands in an interview with KROQ/Los Angeles. Chaplin stating that the band tended to sing about “things they know about” like nature, rivers, and towns, such as the small one Keane came from.

“The other thing that’s in a lot of the songs is the world town,” he elaborated. “[At a recent gig], I was standing onstage and I got about halfway through the gig and I thought, ‘I must have sung the word town at least fifteen times already.’”

During the course of his interview with GQ, it seems one of Bieber’s entourage made a rude remark about Kardashian and replies, “You guys are so mean, bro…People say she doesn’t do anything; she actually does do stuff…She works hard.”

For the Kardashian doubters, calling her a hard worker might sound like a stretch. But perhaps that’s based on Bieber’s own idea of hard work. The GQ interviewer, who hung out with Bieber in the recording studio while he worked on his forthcoming album, remarks that, “I have been told repeatedly what a hard worker he is, but in two nights—Bieber only records at night—I’ve witnessed him work for a grand total of forty minutes.” Perhaps he was in a creative drought?

Bieber and Kardashian haven’t been seen together a lot lately, possibly due to their busy and conflicting schedules, but when he sat down with MTV after the premiere of “Boyfriend,” he talked about working with current Kardashian paramour Kanye West who appears on Bieber’s forthcoming album.

When asked if he knew about the Kardashian/West romance, Bieber joked, “She didn’t even call me! It was crazy.” And kidded around about West, “taking my women.” Watch out, Selena Gomez.
